The municipality of Vilhelmina has a surface of ca 8 741 km², which makes it the biggest municipality in the county of Västerbotten, and a population of ca 6 685 inhabitants. It was created in 1971 and its residence is the town of Vilhelmina. The municipality has only 1 registration district and only 1 urban area.
