Östersund

Jämtland county (Jämtlands län) has a surface of ca 49 450 km² which places the county on the third place (out of 21 counties). The population of the county is ca 130 710 inhabitants, which places the county on the second last place out of 21. The density is only ca 2,5 inhabitants/km². The county was created in 1810 and its current governor is Jöran Hägglund (b. 1959). The biggest city in Jämtland county, which also is the residence city, is Östersund with ca 52 250 inhabitants.
