Falun

Dalarna county (Dalarnas län) has a surface of ca 28 200 km² which places the county on the 4th place (out of 21 counties). The population of the county is ca 288 000 inhabitants, which places the county on the 10th place out of 21. The density is only ca 10 inhabitants/km². The county was created in 1634 and its current governor is Ylva Thörn (b. 1954). The biggest city in Dalarna county is Borlänge with ca 42 000 inhabitants, while the residence city of the county is Falun (ca 37 500 inhabitants).
