Blekinge is located in Götaland (southern Sweden), being with its 2 931 km² (0,7% of the whole country) the 24th (of 25) biggest province (actually the smallest on the mainland). The province includes only 1 county and it belongs to the diocese of Lund. It has a population of ca 160 000 inhabitants (15th place of 25), thus having a density of ca 55 inhabitants/km².
The highest point is Rävabacken in Olofströms kommun (northwestern Blekinge) with 190 m and the biggest lake is Halen (ca 3,5 km², altitude of 69 m), located in the west of the province. The plant symbol of the province is the oak (eken) and the animal and insect symbol is the stag beetle (ekoxen). Other symbols: the European nuthatch bird (nötväcka), the Atlantic cod fish (torsk), the apple sort Melon (melonäpple), the giant polypore mushroom (jätteticka), the leucobryum moss (blåmossa), the rock type coast gneiss (kustgnejs) and the element of magnesium (magnesium/Mg).

Blekinge consists of only 1 county (län), Blekinge. Blekinge has 5 municipalities, X registration districts and X urban areas. The biggest city in Blekinge is Karlskrona with ca 37 280 inhabitants. The province has even its own provincial song called Min Blekingsbygd which translates as My Blekinge countryside, written by Johan Henrik Frithiof Strömmerstedt and composed by Torsten Wall (1902-1970). Princess Adrienne (b. 2018) is duchess of Blekinge.
