The municipality of Bjurholm has a surface of ca 1 364 km² and a population of ca 2 435 inhabitants, which makes it the least populated municipality in Sweden. It was created in 1983 and its residence is the town of Bjurholm. The municipality has only 1 registration district and only 1 urban area.
