I was born in a pretty big city and lived all my life in the city. The countryside was flat and the only mountains I ever saw were in the Geography book. It was 2001. Every summer since then, my and my Mum went to the mountains for one week. The mountains gave me a feeling of greatness and it was there that I discovered how beautiful our world it is. I started reading travel books and not little was the excitment when my mother’s cousin, one sunny day back in 2008, asked me and my mother to join her and her husband on a one-day car trip. Almost every weekend that summer and the coming summer, we went on car-trips and thus visited almost all of Romania. Then I moved to Sweden and started exploring this beautiful country of the North, as well as the rest of Europe.
Now, at the moment of writing, I have been to 31 countries (Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, Spain, Monaco, Italy, the Vatican, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Egypt), 29 capital cities (Berlin, Vaduz, Viena, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest, Bucharest, Lisbon, Monaco, Rome, the Vatican, Valletta, Ljubljana, Paris, Bruxelles, Luxemburg, Amsterdam, the Hague, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Reykjavík, Helsinki, Riga, Vilnius and Cairo) and hundreds of cities. I have also visited most parts of Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
With this blog, I want firstly to make this amazing country that is Sweden known to the entire world. Secondly, I want this blog to be a helpful resource for those travelling in Sweden and wanting to explore its beauties. I will do my best to write about a lot of places from many perspectives (geographical, cultural, historical, artistic, political, religious etc.) and at least in two languages. With a background (M.A.) in literature, languages, history of ideas and culture, I will do my best to offer a broad perspective of Sweden. I will include useful information, useful advice, links, videos, maps etc.
